INGREDIENTS:
3 pounds green cabbage
4 tablespoons unsalted butter( 1/2 Stick)
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1. Cut the cabbage into quarters. Remove any wilted and discolored outer leaves
and cut out the core from the cabbage pieces. Cut the cabbage into alarge (1-inch) dice.
2. Heat the butter and water to simmering in a 4-quart pot. Stir in thecabbage
, sugar, salt, and pepper. Cover the pot and cook the cabbage, stirring
occasionally, until the cabbage is tender, about 25 minutes.
